The SM 611 Abrasive Flapwheel consists of hundreds of resin bonded cloth aluminum oxide abrasive sheets firmly attached to a balanced core. This flapwheel has the advantage of creating smooth, even finishes and has the ability to adapt perfectly to the contours of the workpiece. SM 611 abrasive flapwheels quickly take the contours of the workpiece being ground or polished, making them ideal for convex and concave surfaces, profiles, or internal surfaces. It is also frequently used for weld blending and fine grinding. Controlled speed machinery users can easily adjust the speed to the diameter of the flapwheel. Suitable for all metals, plastic, and wood. GX 712 abrasives are composed of aluminum oxide grain resin bonded to a tough polyester/cotton blended backing with high flexibility and extra durability. These properties allow the material to adapt well to radiuses and contours. The backing is also waterproof for use in wet sanding applications. A multibond lubricant is added for cooler grinding and better finishes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Applied with closed coating, the aluminum oxide grain provides a long service life and high stock removal.
