The Healthcare & Benefits Analyst is responsible for strategic analysis and improvement of the company's employee health insurance plan. This position focuses on evaluating and optimizing health insurance offerings, negotiating with brokers and providers, and providing data-driven recommendations to executive leadership. The analyst develops and manages comprehensive employee well-being programs and wellness initiatives, creating presentations to guide healthcare benefit decisions while ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.
Salary Range: $55,000.00 To 70,000.00 Annually

Qualifications/Responsibilities
- Assess and recommend health benefits aligned with organizational goals and value.
- Design and implement plan enhancements; model design and cost scenarios.
- Lead broker/carrier negotiations and serve as the primary contact for renewals and plan changes.
- Oversee secure data exchanges with brokers/carriers and ensure ACA, ERISA, and HIPAA compliance.
- Analyze utilization, outcomes, costs, and experience; benchmark against market trends.
- Prepare actuarial and renewal materials; validate projections and develop short- and long-range cost estimates.
- Manage program financials: monitor spend, drive cost containment (alternative designs/funding), and build/reconcile budgets.
- Lead a comprehensive wellness strategy beyond health benefits (e.g., mental health, EAP, financial well-being, ergonomics, preventive programs); set KPIs, measure ROI, and drive executive updates and employee communications.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, finance, or related field, and three to five years of experience in healthcare benefits analysis, consulting, or strategic planning.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products, including advanced Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for executive presentations; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Strong project management skills with ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Proven ability to work effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills with thorough knowledge of health insurance plan designs, funding arrangements, and insurance contract language.
- Ability to evaluate insurance proposals, RFPs, and implement negotiation strategies.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations affecting employee health insurance programs (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and privacy standards).
- Excellent presentation, communication and organization skills with ability to create executive-level briefings.
