Job Summary

The Product Specialist – Woodworking Industry serves as a key liaison between Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to support and grow KLINGSPOR’s woodworking product portfolio. This role is responsible for product strategy, technical support, market analysis, product training, and new product development initiatives within the woodworking industry.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical product knowledge with excellent communication skills and a passion for customer support, product innovation, and market growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive product expertise through hands-on testing, market research, and competitive analysis.
  • Manage and support assigned woodworking product lines across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Support, Purchasing and Manufacturing.
  • Define product and market strategies, establish product positioning, and coordinate pricing initiatives to maximize product line profitability.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to identify market opportunities and prioritize product development initiatives.
  • Coordinate new product launches and support cross-functional implementation efforts.
  • Forecast product demand and assist with capacity planning and raw material forecasting.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and maintain competitive positioning.
  • Travel with sales teams to support customer engagement, provide technical expertise, and promote KLINGSPOR woodworking solutions.
  • Develop and deliver product training programs for sales teams, distributors, customer relations, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support customers and sales representatives with product recommendations, troubleshooting, application guidance, and quality-related concerns.
  • Assist in developing product literature, value propositions, and marketing support materials in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Evaluate competitor products and maintain competitive cross-reference information for assigned product lines.
  • Participate in global product strategy discussions and communicate market feedback to manufacturing and engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the woodworking industry or related field.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking abrasives, applications, machinery, and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general business software applications.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customers, distributors, and sales teams.
