This quick change disc uses NWR non-woven material, which has a thinner scrim than the NWSB material, making it slightly less flexible and aggressive. The scratch pattern is lighter (shallow) and will leave a much better and consistent finish, especially on stainless steel and aluminum. When used properly, NWR lasts slightly longer than NWSB material. Non-woven abrasives consist of random nylon fibers bonded together into an open web, and impregnated with resin and abrasive grit. Advantages of non-woven abrasives include a consistent finish, long service life, cool cutting, and soft, yet fast working action. They are waterproof; can be used wet or dry, and easily rinsed out. Coolants, lubricants, and cleaning agents can also be used with a non-woven. With its ability to reduce loading, non-woven abrasives are excellent for paint or coating removal.
